Principal

Julie has been Principal at Clevedon School for the past six years and has a strong and diverse background in education. Over her career, she has worked in a variety of schools in both teaching and leadership positions. Prior to coming to Clevedon School Julie worked alongside Professor John Hattie presenting his "Visible Learning" research around raising student achievement. She has led professional development for teachers around the revised NZ curriculum and National Standards; and has led Clevedon School to becoming the first " Visible Learning " certified school in the world.
Chairperson
Hamish is in his second term on the Board. He has three girls at the school (Olivia, Isla and Kate). His background is in finance and investment and he runs a commercial advisory business. He sits on a wide range of commercial company boards.
Staff representative
Jodie has been appointed for her first term as the staff trustee on the board. She teaches in the Totara team in a year 1/2 class and helps lead Ag day in the school.
Deputy Chairperson and Finance
Tony is leading the finance sub-committee on the board. He is a Chartered Accountant and has worked in both private industry and public practice in NZ and abroad. He has two children at the school (Sophia and Nicholas) and a third (Ava Rose) to start mid 2018.
Fundraising and Finance
Trent is a qualified accountant but works as a pilot for Air New Zealand. He has two children at the school (Ben and Sophie) He and his wife Kate also own and run an equestrian business in McNicol Road. Trent is the BoT representative liaising in a governance role around fundraising and helping with finance alongside Tony.
Property and PTFA liaison
Mark French has three boys at school (Johnny, PJ and Ted). Mark runs his own consultancy which provides property, finance and asset management services. He is an Executive Director and Independent Director on a number of Boards. Mark will liaise with our school leaders and various groups across the school, in a governance role, with property and fundraising.
Property and Pool
Mel has one child at Clevedon School, Sam in Room 1. Mel works for several local businesses in the construction industry focusing on book keeping and office management. Mel has been a part of the swimming pool committee over the past five years and worked tirelessly to ensure the school pool is operational and available for the local community and school use over the summer months. She will continue to liaise with the pool committee and work with the school leaders on property matters from a governance level.
