Volunteer Tree planting events

Volunteer Tree planting events

Auckland Council are having tree planting events for the public at Waitawa, Duder Regional Parks and also on the small piece of land by the Orere Point boat ramp. Planting trees is a great conservation activity to do with your children as with your help they can dig the holes and place the trees and over time you can go back to see a forest appear. They also have the experience of working with a large group of people to achieve a common goal - not something that many of us get to experience nowadays. Plus lots of fresh air and a sausage sizzle at the end.

Sunday 27th May – Waitawa

Saturday 9th June - Orere Point

Sunday 10th June – Duder

Saturday 16th June – Waitawa

Saturday 23rd June – Duder

Sunday 1st July – Duder

Sunday 8th July – Waitawa

Look for signs from the Park Entrance (for Waitawa and Duder) or for Orere Point, meet at the boat ramp (end of Bays Road)

All planting days start at 10 a.m.  and go on until the BBQ is ready – between 12 and 12.30. Wear good strong footwear and take a water bottle, sun hat and waterproofs.
